LGPLv3 section 4 replacement/recombination method Published Firefox 1.0.0 XPI inspected 28 October 2026; static verification Section 4(d)(0) requires both Minimal Corresponding Source for the library and Corresponding Application Code in a suitable form and under terms allowing recombination. Application code may be object and/or source code, with necessary data and utilities. A public ExtPay source repository alone is insufficient. Section 4(d)(1) is not assumed merely because vendor/ExtPay.js is a separate file. Application material is the published XPI identified in RELEASE-SOURCE-MAP.json: its HTML/JavaScript/assets/manifest are readable and can be copied independently of the original edition packager. An interface-compatible vendor/ExtPay.js can therefore be substituted without compiling the proprietary application anew. Static inspection confirms the separate library manifest entries and delivered application files; no application compiler or private packaging utility is needed to substitute the library. The shipped vendor/NOTICE.txt grants replacement, recombination and debugging rights with precedence over conflicting application terms. This supports the section 4(d)(0) technical route; it is not legal certification or a newly executed modified-library browser test. Do not upload proprietary application code or XPIs here or infer a general application source licence. This assessment covers public Free 1.0.0, not internal Pro builds. Recipient process: 1. Obtain covered source through NOTICES.txt. Obtain the exact corresponding TenantTabs XPI only through its authorised distribution, not this repository. 2. Modify ExtPay.dev.js, rebuilding the library as described in build-instructions.txt, or use an interface-compatible modified ExtPay IIFE under its applicable terms. 3. Extract a copy of the authorised XPI into a separate development directory. Retain the application manifest/assets and replace vendor/ExtPay.js only. The existing manifest loads that path for background/content-script use. Keep the global ExtPay name/public API. Record changes and retain notices. 4. Discard stale META-INF signature files only in the working copy. The original publisher signature cannot authenticate modified content. Do not change the installed original, claim an official modified release or use publisher keys. 5. In an isolated Firefox development profile use about:debugging / This Firefox / Load Temporary Add-on and select the extracted manifest.json. Mozilla documents this supported temporary execution route. It ends on removal/browser restart and does not fully reproduce permanent signed installation. No preference change, signing bypass or publisher service credential is required for this temporary step. It is not proof of final LGPL installation compliance. Firefox signing limits Release/beta permanent installation requires Mozilla signing. A recipient cannot reuse the publisher's signature after replacing the library. A separately signed modified add-on would require the recipient's own suitable ID/account and Mozilla review; approval, identity continuity and user-data migration are not guaranteed. Mozilla also documents configuration-dependent unsigned installation in certain development channels, but this preparation changes no Firefox preference and does not treat such a configuration change as an established compliance solution. The TenantTabs qualification signing helper intentionally cannot sign arbitrary recipient IDs. Signing through the publisher is not a condition of these rights. Section 4(e) / GPLv3 section 6 installation information The GPL User Product provision is conditional, including a conveyance in/with/ specifically for a User Product as part of a transfer of possession/use of that product. A standalone extension download on the recipient's existing computer does not by itself establish such a transfer; distributing with hardware or a different transaction could change the analysis. Neither universal exemption nor automatic applicability is asserted here. For the published standalone Firefox download, no transfer of possession/use of a User Product has been identified, so no additional installation information has been identified under this conditional provision. This assesses that distribution only. If applicable, sufficient installation/execution information is needed; a session-only load or a route dependent on unguaranteed third-party signing must not be silently approved. Even if section 4(e) does not apply, section 4(d)(0)'s materials and effective permission requirements still apply. Copyright attribution permission is not a blanket waiver of any of these other obligations. Release scope RELEASE-SOURCE-MAP.json identifies the inspected public XPI and library sources. Future releases must retain effective permissions, notices and corresponding materials and update that mapping. Distribution with hardware or under different terms requires reassessment. No publisher credentials or general proprietary redistribution rights are supplied by this method. This does not reopen the resolved LGPL/AGPL ambiguity or certify legal compliance.
